Dhaka, Jan 05, (V7N) - Emdadul Haque Kajol, a cosmetics supplier, was killed in a road accident in the capital's Bijoy Sarani area on Saturday night. A hired motorcycle rider was also injured in the accident.
 
The incident occurred around 7:30 p.m. when Emdadul, a resident of Mirpur-6, was riding with the motorcycle driver. Local sources state that the motorcycle was hit by another vehicle, causing both Emdadul and the driver to fall onto the road, suffering severe injuries. Emdadul was rushed to Dhaka Medical College Hospital, where he was declared dead by doctors at 10:30 p.m.
 
Emdadul Haque Kajol was the son of Mohammad Soayed from Swarupkathi village, Pirojpur's Nesarabad Upazila. His younger brother, Joy, confirmed the news of the tragic incident.
 
Inspector Md. Faruk, in charge of the Dhaka Medical Police Outpost, confirmed that the body has been sent to the hospital morgue for an autopsy. The injured motorcyclist is receiving treatment at the hospital.
