Jamalpur, Mar 08 (V7N) – Three people lost their lives, and four others sustained critical injuries in two separate road accidents in Jamalpur Municipality on Saturday (March 8) morning.

According to Jamalpur Fire Service Senior Station Officer Rabiul Islam, at around 5:30 AM, truck driver Jewel Akand Kalu was cleaning his truck along the Jamalpur-Mymensingh regional highway in Chhonkanda when a speeding ten-wheeler truck rammed into the stationary vehicle. Jewel Akand Kalu died on the spot, while three others, including another truck driver, were critically injured.

Later in the morning, a motorcycle traveling towards Mymensingh collided with a stone-laden truck, resulting in the death of rider Shaon, a resident of Seemarpar, Bakshiganj Upazila. Another person sustained serious injuries.

Additionally, on Friday (March 7) at 12:30 AM, a truck from Madhupur ran over a tea seller, Anisur Rahman, while he was crossing the road in the Narkeli area of the Jamalpur-Tangail highway, killing him instantly.

In a separate incident at the Jamtoli Bazar checkpost, Police Sub-Inspector (SI) Gopal Chandra Ghosh was seriously injured when a truck disregarded a police signal and hit him before speeding away. He has been transferred to Mymensingh Medical College Hospital for treatment.

Jamalpur Sadar Police Station Officer-in-Charge Abu Faisal Md. Atiq confirmed that three individuals have died, and four others are undergoing treatment. Authorities have seized the truck involved, and legal proceedings are underway.
