Two individuals were killed when they were hit by an oil tanker in Sujanagar, Pabna. 

The accident occurred on Tuesday (May 21) at around 7:30 PM, near the Upazila Livestock Office.

Sujanagar Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Jalal Uddin confirmed the accident and the fatalities.

The deceased have been identified as Abdul Mannan (38), son of Abu Bakr from Masjidpara neighborhood in Sujanagar Municipality, and Kamrul Islam (35), son of Lobai Pramanik from Charsujanagar village in the same upazila.

OC Jalal Uddin explained that the oil tanker was climbing an inclined road in front of the livestock office when suddenly, the brakes failed, causing the vehicle to roll backward. The two victims, who were standing nearby, were crushed under the wheels and died on the spot.

Upon receiving the information, the police quickly arrived at the scene, recovered the bodies, and seized the vehicle. The driver and helper fled the scene immediately after the accident. Legal action will be taken if the families of the deceased file a complaint.
