Pabna, July 5 (V7N)- In Ishwardi, Pabna, a private car lost control and collided with a tree, resulting in the deaths of 5 people.
 
Additionally, 2 people were injured in the incident. They have been admitted to the hospital in critical condition.
 
The incident occurred around 9 PM on Thursday (July 4) in front of the Dashuria Sugar Mill on the Pabna-Ishwardi highway.
 
The deceased are Jihad (14), son of Rezaul Karim from Azampur village in Ishwardi; Vijay (23), the microbus driver and son of Kabir alias Anwar Hossain; Shishir (14), son of Ilias Ali; Sifat (15), son of Mashrum Hossain; and Shaon (15), son of Waz Uddin from Bharaimari village.
 
The injured are Shahed alias Jetu, son of Japan Ali, and Naim, son of Suson Hossain. They are undergoing treatment at Pabna General Hospital. All the victims were friends.
 
Confirming the matter, Ishwardi Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Rafiqul Islam said that the group of friends went out for a ride in the microbus at night. After the outing, they were heading towards Pabna from Ishwardi. Upon reaching in front of Dashuria Sugar Mill, the private car lost control and collided with a roadside electric pole and a tree, killing three people on the spot.
 
When the four injured were rescued and taken to the hospital, the on-duty doctor declared two more dead. Upon receiving the news, Ishwardi Police Station and Fire Service personnel went to the accident site and rescued them.
 
OC Rafiqul Islam further mentioned that the accident might have occurred due to speeding.
