Pabna, July 5 (V7N)- The burial of the five friends who died in a road accident in Ishwardi, Pabna, has been completed.

On Friday (July 5) at around 3 PM, after funeral prayers in the villages of Azampur and Vharimari in Ishwardi Upazila, they were buried in their local cemeteries.

Earlier, in response to requests from relatives, the police handed over the bodies to their families without conducting autopsies. The bodies were handed over from the Ishwardi Highway Police Station at around 10 AM.

Upon bringing the bodies home, a heartbreaking scene unfolded. The air was heavy with the cries of the grieving relatives. Neighbors were at a loss for words to console them. They are struggling to accept the loss of so many lives at once.

Meanwhile, the local administration and public representatives have checked on the families of the deceased. On Friday morning, Ishwardi Upazila Executive Officer Subir Kumar Das and Dashuria Union Parishad Chairman Bakul Sardar visited the homes of the deceased in Azampur and Vharimari villages.

At that time, they expressed their deep condolences to the families of the deceased and assured them of government support.

UP Chairman Bakul Sardar said, "Such an accident is truly tragic. No one desires this. We have no words to console the relatives of the deceased. We will support them as much as possible from the Union Parishad. However, he advised families to be more aware of their children's activities."

Ishwardi Upazila Executive Officer Subir Kumar Das said, "We are keeping track of the families of the deceased from the upazila administration. We are with them in any of their needs. They will be provided with as much assistance as possible from the government. He urged drivers to be more careful and cautious to prevent accidents."

Vijay's wife, Antara Khatun, said, "Vijay drives a car in Dhaka. On Thursday afternoon, he came home with the owner's private car. At that time, he told me that he felt like he didn't have much time left and asked if I could stay alone. He said he might not return to me. Today he came home and would stay home and go nowhere. But his other friends kept insisting that he go out with them. To keep his friends' request, he went out with the private car in the evening. He was supposed to return to Dhaka at 9 PM on Thursday night. But everything ended before that."

It should be noted that on Thursday (July 4) at around 9 PM, while out driving the private car, five friends died after losing control and hitting a tree in front of Dashuria Sugar Mill in Ishwardi. Two others injured in the incident are receiving treatment at Pabna General Hospital.

The deceased are identified as Vijay (23), son of Kabir alias Anwar Hossain of Azampur village in Ishwardi Upazila, microbus driver; Jihad (16), son of Rezaul Karim; Shishir (15), son of Elias Ali; Sifat (15), son of the late Masum Hossain; and Shaon (15), son of Waz Uddin of Vharimari village.
