Cumilla, Sep 06 (V7N) - On the morning of September 6, around 6:30 AM, a fatal accident occurred in the Batisan-Nankara area of Chauddagram Upazila. The victims included Mohammad Mamun (50) from South Lakshmipur village in Feni Sadar Upazila, his mother-in-law Mazeda Begum (70), his 5-month-old child Simon, and the microbus driver Alauddin Hossain (27) from Master Para, Feni Sadar.
 
According to Mamun's brother, Mohammad Hanif, Mamun had been residing in Dhaka with his family and was employed at a private hospital. He had recently traveled to Feni to visit relatives affected by flooding. Hanif learned of the accident shortly after Mamun's departure from Feni back to Dhaka.
 
Rais Uddin, Officer-in-Charge of Miahbazar Highway Police Station, confirmed that the accident involved a stationary truck on the Dhaka-Chattogram highway’s Dhaka-bound lane in the Batisan-Nankara area. A microbus, losing control, crashed into the parked truck. Subsequently, a Starline passenger bus collided with the microbus. The collision resulted in the immediate death of four microbus occupants. Mamun's wife and five others sustained injuries and were taken to the Chauddagram Upazila Health Complex for medical care.
 
The police have impounded the bus, microbus, and truck involved in the incident. The bodies have been returned to the victims’ families, and an investigation is ongoing.
