Kuakata, Sep 01 (V7N) — In a bid to enhance the aesthetic appeal of the tourist destination Kuakata, safeguard the coastline from climate impacts, and prevent lightning strikes, 16,000 Palm seeds have been planted. The initiative, led by the Kuakata Humanitarian Aid Center, began at 10 AM on Sunday, with planting taking place along both sides of the flood control embankment.
 
The event saw participation from various prominent figures, including Maulana Moinul Islam Mannan, the Amir of the Kuakata Municipal Branch of Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami; Qari Nazrul Islam, Imam of the Kuakata Baitul Arooj Central Jame Mosque; Md. Hossain Amir, General Secretary of the Press Club; Md. Khalilur Rahman, President of the Kuakata Humanitarian Aid Center and Headmaster of Bangabandhu Secondary School; as well as representatives from anti-discrimination student groups and BNP leaders.
 
According to the Kuakata Humanitarian Aid Center’s leadership, the planting will cover a five-kilometer stretch of the embankment, starting from the eastern side of Kuakata Chowrastra.
