Dhaka, Oct 14 (V7N) — Chinese Ambassador Yao Wen assured that relations between Dhaka and Beijing would remain strong and stable, despite the challenges Bangladesh is currently facing. He made this statement during an event held at a hotel in the capital on Monday, where he expressed optimism about Bangladesh's ability to overcome its present difficulties, including law and order concerns.

Ambassador Yao Wen voiced his confidence that Bangladesh’s interim government will soon navigate through all obstacles, ensuring stability in the country. He emphasized that China has consistently stood by Bangladesh during its crises , including the Covid-19 pandemic and the recent July movement . Yao highlighted that Chinese company officials remained in Bangladesh during these critical times, a testament to the strength of the bilateral relationship.

Speaking at the same event, Foreign Affairs Adviser Touhid Hossain expressed the government's desire to increase military communication and cooperation with China . On the Rohingya issue, Hossain stressed that the only viable solution is the repatriation of the Rohingya refugees to Myanmar, urging China to play a more sincere and active role in facilitating this process.

The event underscored the importance of the Dhaka-Beijing partnership and the potential for deepening cooperation, especially in areas like military collaboration and humanitarian issues such as the Rohingya crisis.
