Dhaka, Oct 17 (V7N) – The government has announced extended public holidays for Eid-ul-Azha, Eid-ul-Fitr, and Durga Puja in 2025. Eid-ul-Azha will now have six days of holidays, Eid-ul-Fitr will have five, and Durga Puja will see a two-day holiday.

This decision was made during a meeting of the advisory council, chaired by Chief Adviser Dr. Muhammad Yunus, at the Chief Adviser’s Office in Tejgaon on Thursday. The council approved the list of public holidays for the upcoming year.

For both Eid celebrations, one day will be a general holiday, while the remaining days off will be granted via executive orders surrounding the Eid days.

Durga Puja's holidays will include a general holiday on Dashami, with an additional day off on Nabami, granted through an executive order.

Currently, Eid holidays span three days, although extensions through executive orders have been made in previous years. This year, an extra day was also added to the Puja holidays by the interim government.
