Kushtia, Oct 18 (V7N)- Fisheries and Livestock Advisor Farida Akhtar emphasized the importance of preserving and spreading the songs of Fakir Lalon Shah, stating that they should be cherished and passed down to future generations. She made these remarks during a ceremony held at Nabpran Akhrabari in Cheunuria, Kushtia, on the occasion of Lalon's Tirodhan Day on Friday.

Addressing the audience, Akhtar expressed, "Lalon's songs are beloved by those who love him, and there is no need to alter them. Children are learning Lalon songs, and efforts should be made to ensure they can retain and continue this tradition." She further highlighted that Lalon's music, which celebrates love and unity, doesn't require renowned artists to keep it alive, and it should be preserved for future generations.

Other speakers at the event praised Fakir Lalon Shah's universal message, acknowledging him as a saint whose teachings transcend social and cultural boundaries. They emphasized that Lalon’s philosophy and music resonate with people from all walks of life, and his legacy continues to inspire.

The event was attended by several notable figures, including Syed Mahmud Belal Haider, Secretary of the Ministry of Fisheries and Livestock, poet and philosopher Farhad Mazhar, Acting Deputy Commissioner Mocha. Sharmin Akhtar, and Superintendent of Police Mizanur Rahman.
