Dhaka, Oct 20 (V7N) – Dr. Salehuddin Ahmed, Adviser to the Ministries of Finance and Commerce, emphasized on Sunday that recovering money laundered abroad remains a top priority for the government.

"We have established a task force to recover the money that has been illegally transferred abroad, and we have already begun working on this," he said while speaking to reporters after attending the Adviser's Council Committee on Government Procurement (ACCGP) meeting at the Bangladesh Secretariat.

When asked about the current market situation, the adviser noted that vegetables are seasonal products and assured that prices would decrease soon.

"We are taking all necessary steps to stabilize the market. The Trading Corporation of Bangladesh (TCB) and other agencies are actively working to ensure the supply of essential commodities," he added.

Salehuddin also highlighted the government’s efforts to sell agricultural products at affordable prices through the Open Market Sale (OMS) program in various parts of the city to help stabilize the market. He mentioned that the TCB, Department of Agricultural Marketing, and some private organizations are working together to offer essential goods at reasonable prices.
