Rajshahi, Oct 22 (V7N) – A total of 252 cadet Sub-Inspectors (SI) have been discharged from the Bangladesh Police Academy in Sarda, Rajshahi, on charges of indiscipline. The dismissals come from a batch of 823 trainee cadet SIs, marking a significant disciplinary action within the police training program.

The information was confirmed by Masudur Rahman Bhuiya, Principal of the Bangladesh Police Academy, who stated that the trainees were dismissed for breaching discipline during their training period.

The affected batch of cadet SI began their training on November 11, 2023, and were scheduled to complete it by November 4, 2024. However, disciplinary issues arose, leading to the dismissal of the 252 trainees before the completion of the program.

Sources at police headquarters indicate that the decision followed the visit of the Home Affairs Advisor to the academy on Sunday, October 20. The visit, however, did not include any formal ceremonies, but it may have influenced the subsequent disciplinary actions taken against the cadets.

This significant step underscores the strict adherence to discipline and order within the Bangladesh Police Academy and highlights the institution's commitment to maintaining high standards for its law enforcement trainees.
