Dhaka, Nov 29 (V7N) - Dhaka experienced light rain on Thursday night, with areas such as Tikatuli, Mugda, and Keraniganj enjoying a refreshing drizzle that enlivened the late-night atmosphere. The Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD) has forecast scattered rain across various parts of the country over the next three days, offering a mix of light showers and cloudy skies.

According to a media release by the Met Office, a deep depression in the southwest Bay of Bengal has been moving north-northwestward since Thursday night. This system is influencing weather patterns in Bangladesh, with light rain expected on Friday evening in parts of the Khulna, Barishal, and Chattogram divisions. Over the next 48 hours, these areas, including Dhaka, may experience light to moderate showers or thundershowers. Elsewhere, skies are expected to remain partly cloudy, with dry weather prevailing.

The highest temperature on Thursday was 32.4°C in Sitakunda, Chattogram, while the lowest was recorded at 12.1°C in Tetulia, Panchagarh. The Met Office predicts a slight drop in daytime temperatures on Friday, while nighttime temperatures may increase slightly. By Saturday, both day and night temperatures are expected to decrease marginally, continuing a cooling trend indicative of early winter.

As the mercury dips, signs of winter are becoming evident. Light to moderate fog is likely from late night to early morning in parts of the country, adding a seasonal charm to Bangladesh’s landscapes and hinting at the transition into cooler weather.
