Dhaka, Dec 10 (V7N) – Lutfey Siddiqi, the Chief Adviser's special envoy from Bangladesh's interim government, engaged in a bilateral meeting with Grace Fu, Singapore’s Minister for Sustainability and the Environment and Minister-in-charge for Trade Relations. The meeting took place on Tuesday at the Ministry of Trade office in Singapore.

During the discussion, Siddiqi expressed gratitude for Singapore’s unwavering support to Bangladesh, particularly in facilitating negotiations for a free trade agreement that commenced last month. In a statement received in Dhaka, Siddiqi highlighted Bangladesh’s aspiration for stronger ties with Singapore, encompassing areas such as trade, investment, and knowledge sharing.

"Bangladesh looks forward to a deeper and broader relationship with Singapore that includes, among other areas, trade, investments, and the exchange of expertise," Siddiqi stated.

Minister Fu commended Siddiqi for his presentation on the interim government's reform agenda. She offered Singapore’s support, suggesting that the country could share its experiences to help Bangladesh improve governance and create a more favorable environment for investment.

The meeting was also attended by Ashik Chowdhury, Executive Chairman of the Bangladesh Investment Development Authority (BIDA), and Luthfun Nahar, Bangladesh's Commercial Counsellor in Singapore.
