Dhaka, Dec 14 (V7N) – Foreign Affairs Adviser Md Touhid Hossain stated on Saturday that Bangladesh aims to maintain amicable relations with all nations, grounded in respect and equality. He assured that the government is actively pursuing this objective.

The adviser made these remarks during separate exchange meetings with officials, journalists, politicians, and intellectuals in Raipura and Belabo upazilas of Narsingdi.

Highlighting Bangladesh’s diplomatic stance, Touhid Hossain noted that the country has conveyed to India its desire for strong bilateral relations rooted in mutual interests. He also pointed out the presence of widespread propaganda against Bangladesh, which he described as part of a larger conspiracy.

The government, he added, is countering such propaganda through dialogue and by engaging with those open to discussions. He emphasized that the people of Bangladesh are now more united, making it difficult for any significant actions to be taken against them.

He further explained that the current government has been entrusted with responsibilities amid the ongoing student and public movements. Following necessary reforms, the government plans to facilitate fair and impartial elections, ultimately transferring political power to elected representatives.
