Dhaka, Dec 18 (V7N)—The government is set to establish the July Uprising Directorate, which will function under the Ministry of Liberation War Affairs to preserve the history and memories of the July Uprising, rehabilitate the families of martyrs and the injured student-activists, and uphold the ideals and spirit of the uprising in the national and state life.


On Wednesday, an inter-ministerial meeting was held at the conference room of the Ministry of Liberation War Affairs, presided over by the ministry's adviser, Farooq-e-Azam, to discuss the establishment of the July Uprising Directorate. This information was revealed in a press release issued by the Ministry of Liberation War Affairs.


Representatives from the Cabinet Division, the Ministry of Public Administration, the Finance Division, the Law and Justice Division, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Public Security Division, the Legislative and Parliamentary Affairs Division, the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, the Health Services Division, the Medical Education and Family Welfare Division, the Local Government Division, the Ministry of Education, the Ministry of Social Welfare, the Ministry of Housing and Public Works, the Ministry of Youth and Sports, the Ministry of Cultural Affairs, and the Ministry of Women and Children Affairs attended the meeting.


Additionally, the Secretary of the Ministry of Liberation War Affairs, Ishrat Chowdhury, and other senior officials of the ministry were present at the meeting.
