In a significant operation, the 8 Armed Police Battalion (APBN) apprehended four Rohingya along with a substantial cache of ammunition during a raid at the Jamtoli Rohingya camp in Cox's Bazar. The raid, conducted at the E-5 Block of Jamtoli Rohingya Camp No. 15 in Ukhiya, took place at 11:00 PM on Thursday, February 22.

During the operation, law enforcement authorities recovered a significant arsenal of weapons from the suspects, including 5 one-shot guns, 1 locally made LG, 36 rounds of rifle bullets, 8 bullet shells, and 4 rounds. Additionally, shotgun cartridges, 3 homemade grenades, 3 crackers, 1 wakitki set, 2 large daggers, 1 sling, and 2 iron rods were seized.

The arrested individuals have been identified as Mohammad Amin (23), Petan Sharif (43), Abul Kashem (33), and Syedur Rahman (25). Following their apprehension, the suspects were handed over to the Ukhia police station on Friday afternoon.

Captain Amir Zafar, the captain of the 8 APBN (Additional DIG), confirmed the operation and provided insights into the motives behind the raid. According to Captain Zafar, the operation was conducted based on secret intelligence, indicating that the suspects were planning a large-scale sabotage operation within the Rohingya camp.
