Dhaka, Dec 20 (V7N) — The Meteorological Department has forecast rain with thunder in seven divisions, including Dhaka, due to the influence of a low-pressure area over the Bay of Bengal. The department also predicts a further drop in temperatures following the rain.

In a press release issued on Thursday evening, meteorologist Dr. Bazlur Rashid detailed that the distinct low-pressure area is currently positioned over the southwest Bay of Bengal and its adjoining regions, with its extension reaching the north Bay of Bengal. The system is expected to move northwestwards, influencing the weather across Bangladesh.

Weather Forecast Highlights:

Light to moderate rain or thundershowers are expected in parts of Dhaka, Khulna, and Barisal divisions.

Some areas in Rajshahi, Mymensingh, Sylhet, and Chittagong divisions may also experience similar weather.

Daytime temperatures may drop by 2–3°C on Saturday, with a slight decline in nighttime temperatures.

Sunday is expected to bring a further slight drop in daytime temperatures.

The Meteorological Department recorded the lowest temperature in the country on Thursday at 10.2°C in Tentulia, Panchagarh, while the highest temperature of 31.5°C was observed in Sitakunda, Chittagong.
