Dhaka, Dec 30 (V7N) — Dr. Muhammad Yunus, the Chief Advisor to the interim government, has directed field-level officials to take proactive measures to stabilise commodity prices and maintain the supply chain during the upcoming Ramadan.

During a video conference on Monday, Dr. Yunus engaged with officials from 31 districts across Dhaka, Chittagong, Mymensingh, and Sylhet divisions. The meeting, held from his office, focused on law and order, communal harmony, agricultural preservation, fertiliser supply, and industrial peace.

Addressing the participants, Dr. Yunus emphasised the importance of working collaboratively to ensure market stability during Ramadan. "Focus on stabilising market prices and ensuring the smooth transport and availability of goods. This is critical for the public during Ramadan," he stated.

Officials, including divisional commissioners, police commissioners, range police chiefs, deputy commissioners, and superintendents of police, shared insights on their respective areas, which Dr. Yunus noted would inform future government decisions.

The Chief Advisor also highlighted the progress of the 15 reform commissions established by the interim government. He revealed that several reports would be submitted soon, paving the way for discussions with political parties and citizens to create an environment conducive to elections.

He urged officials to monitor public reactions to these reforms to ensure the process remains peaceful.

Cabinet Secretary Sheikh Abdur Rashid moderated the conference and announced plans for a similar engagement with officials from 33 districts of the remaining divisions in the near future.
