Dhaka, Jan 01 (V7N) — The 29th edition of the Dhaka International Trade Fair (DITF) was inaugurated today by the Chief Advisor to the Interim Government, Professor Dr. Muhammad Yunus, at the Bangladesh-China Friendship Exhibition Center (BCFC) in Purbachal. The event marks the beginning of the new year with a month-long showcase of entrepreneurship and innovation.

During the inauguration, Dr. Yunus emphasized the importance of entrepreneurship, stating, “Only humans are entrepreneurs. The job of humans is to do what they want. Trade fairs give people the opportunity to showcase their initiative and creativity. We must utilize this opportunity.”

He urged businesses to focus on diversifying exports and innovating products, highlighting the importance of the service sector alongside traditional goods.

The DITF-2025 will run daily from 10 AM to 9 PM and until 10 PM on weekends, offering a platform for 362 stalls and pavilions, including participation from 11 organizations representing seven countries. Special emphasis has been placed on promoting the July-August Uprising at specific locations such as the July Chattar, Chhatrish Chattar, and the Youth Pavilion.

For the first time, stall and pavilion spaces were allocated online, modernizing the process. An e-ticketing system has been introduced to streamline visitor entry. In addition, dedicated BRTC bus services and discounted Uber rides will ensure convenient access to the venue.

The fair is expected to attract a large number of visitors and facilitate trade, innovation, and networking throughout the month.
