DHAKA, Jan 5, (V7N): The government has granted an exemption to 826 family members of martyrs from the July-August Uprising from providing proof of filing income tax returns when purchasing savings certificates using government assistance funds.
This exemption is in line with Section 264, Sub-Section (4) of the Income Tax Act 2023, as announced by the National Board of Revenue (NBR).
In a recent order, the NBR confirmed that the family members of the martyrs will not need to submit a Proof of Submission of Return (PSR) while purchasing savings certificates with the financial assistance provided to them.
The NBR also paid tribute to the martyrs of the July Mass Uprising, recognizing their families in this gesture. The exemption applies to those 826 family members of martyrs who were impacted by the uprising.
