Dhaka, Feb 10 (V7N)Chief Advisor Dr. Muhammad Yunus reaffirmed the government's commitment to honoring the sacrifices of those involved in the July Uprising, describing them as the 'creators of history.' Speaking during a meeting with the families of July Uprising martyrs at the State Guest House Jamuna on Monday (February 10), Dr. Yunus pledged strict action against those attempting to create chaos in the country.

Commitment to Justice and Recognition

During the meeting, Dr. Yunus addressed various issues raised by the martyrs' families, including the trial of those responsible for the violence during the uprising, the formation of the July Uprising Directorate, and the state recognition and financial assistance for the families of the injured and martyred.

“We will not allow the sacrifices of these brave individuals to be forgotten,” Dr. Yunus declared. “Their contributions are woven into the fabric of our nation's history.”

The Chief Advisor also highlighted ongoing government initiatives and future plans aimed at rehabilitating the affected families and ensuring that their sacrifices receive the institutional recognition they deserve.

Warning Against Disruptors

Dr. Yunus warned that elements from the previous government remain embedded in various sectors of the country, posing potential threats to stability. He urged the public to remain vigilant in the face of these risks.

“There are still people from the former regime in important circles,” he said. “We must be alert, as there could be more attempts to disrupt the peace and progress we are striving to achieve.”

Martyrs' Families Demand Justice

Families of the martyrs expressed their expectations for justice, state honors, and financial rehabilitation during the meeting. They also called for the swift establishment of the July Uprising Directorate to oversee support initiatives and to ensure the proper recognition of their loved ones.

Dr. Yunus reassured them that the government remains committed to delivering justice and supporting the long-term welfare of the families.

Ongoing Government Support

This meeting follows the recent inauguration of a state financial assistance program for families of the martyred and injured, with significant grants and monthly allowances announced. The government has also pledged priority access to jobs and healthcare for those affected by the uprising.

As the government continues to navigate the aftermath of the July Uprising, Dr. Yunus's statements underscore a broader commitment to both justice and national unity in a time of political transition.
