Dhaka, Feb 18 (V7N) – Dr. Bidhan Ranjan Roy Poddar, Advisor to the Ministry of Primary and Mass Education, has assured that all primary schools across Bangladesh will receive textbooks by the end of February.

Speaking at the District Commissioner (DC) Conference at the Osmani Memorial Auditorium on Tuesday morning, he stated that 85% of schools have already received their books, and the remaining 15% will get theirs this month.

"We will receive the primary school books by February," he confirmed.

Dr. Poddar also emphasized the District Commissioners' (DCs) role in ensuring quality education, stating that various issues identified by the DCs in primary schools will be resolved. Additionally, DCs have been instructed to ensure that school construction projects are properly executed and to speed up the registration process for unregistered private primary schools.

Regarding the ongoing movement demanding the appointment of recommended candidates for primary assistant teacher positions, Dr. Poddar expressed sympathy but clarified that the matter is currently pending in court.

"I sympathize with the teachers whose appointments were canceled. Their demands are valid, but as the issue is under judicial review, I cannot comment further," he said.

The Ministry of Primary and Mass Education remains committed to ensuring a smooth education system, resolving administrative challenges, and completing book distribution within the promised timeframe.
