State Minister for Commerce, Ahasanul Islam Titu, has announced that the Trading Corporation of Bangladesh (TCB) will distribute six essential food items to 10 million families during Ramadan. He emphasized the importance of ensuring the proper distribution of these goods to the people of the country and directed deputy commissioners (DCs) to oversee the process effectively.

Titu made this announcement during a press briefing following a meeting with DCs at the Osmani Memorial Auditorium in the capital on Monday. He revealed that TCB products will now be sold through permanent shops instead of trucks, starting from next year. Additionally, ahead of Ramadan, Bangladesh plans to import 100,000 metric tons of sugar and 500,000 metric tons of onions from India.

Furthermore, Titu mentioned that the government has reduced the price of oil by Tk10 to alleviate financial burdens. He assured that there is an ample supply of all essential products ahead of Ramadan and emphasized that there will be no increase in prices for any products.
