Chief of Army Staff of Bangladesh, General SM Shafiuddin Ahmed, returned home on Wednesday following his participation in the 'Doha International Maritime Defence Exhibition and Conference (DIMDEX 2024) in Qatar.

The DIMDEX event took place on March 4 and March 5, as per an ISPR press release.

The conference covered various topics, including fostering mutual trust, enhancing relations among respective land forces, bolstering professional ties, fortifying regional security mechanisms, addressing conflict issues, coordinating joint training efforts, and outlining long-term modernization plans for the armed forces.

Additionally, the army chief engaged in bilateral discussions with the Chief of Staff of Qatar Armed Forces and other senior military officials, including army chiefs from different nations.

General SM Shafiuddin departed for Qatar on March 3.
