The First Bangladesh-China Friendship Bridge, commonly referred to as Postogola Bridge, spanning the Buriganga river, will resume vehicular movement starting from 6 am on Saturday following the completion of renovation works on this crucial bridge at Dhaka's entry point.

Repair and maintenance activities have been successfully concluded, with a load test currently underway, slated for completion by nightfall, as confirmed by concerned officials.

The Roads and Highways Department (RHD) initiated repair operations on the bridge on February 22, necessitating its closure to heavy vehicles such as trucks, pickup vans, covered vans, and lorries during this period. Additionally, phases of closure were implemented for buses, microbuses, cars, and other vehicles.

According to the department, repairs and retrofitting efforts focused on two girders of the Bangladesh-China Friendship Buriganga Bridge-1, ensuring its structural integrity and safety for future use.
