Finance Minister Abul Hassan Mahmood Ali accused opposition parties, including BNP, of spreading falsehoods regarding the country's inward remittances.
He emphasized that the volume of inward remittances from expatriates to Bangladesh has been increasing consistently each month, with the country receiving remittances totaling USD $2.16 billion in February alone.
Minister Ali made these remarks as the chief guest at the Cub Scouts' holiday program at Khansama Government Pilot Model High School, organized by Dinajpur's Khansama Upazila administration.
The Cub holiday program, involving about 400 Cub Scouts, scouts, and officials from 53 educational institutions, was organized by Bangladesh Scouts, Khansama Upazila.
The event was chaired by Md. Taj Uddin, UNO of Khansama Upazila, with Safiul Azam Chowdhury Lion, Upazila Chairman and General Secretary of Upazila Awami League, and other local political leaders also speaking at the function.
