The Dhaka Mass Transit Company Limited (DMTCL) has announced that the Dhaka metro rail will operate from 8 am to 9 pm starting from the 16th of Ramadan. MAN Siddique, Managing Director of DMTCL, made this announcement during a press briefing on Sunday.

According to the new schedule, the last train departing from Motijheel will be at 9:40 pm, while the last train from Uttara will depart at 9:20 pm.

During the briefing, MAN Siddique mentioned that although carrying and consuming food and drinks are generally prohibited on the metro rail, passengers will be allowed to carry 250 ml water bottles during specific times, considering the iftar timing. However, carrying any other food items will not be permitted, and passengers must dispose of water bottles in designated bins.

To facilitate passengers during iftar time, the iftar schedule will be displayed on LED screens inside and outside the trains.
