Dhaka, June 10 (V7N) — All the formalities of this year’s holy Hajj have been completed, and Bangladeshi pilgrims are now preparing to return home from Saudi Arabia. The return flights of Bangladeshi Hajj pilgrims began on Tuesday (June 10) and will continue until July 10.

Earlier, the main rituals of the holy Hajj concluded last Thursday with the observance of Waquf at Arafat Maidan. Pilgrims celebrated Eid-ul-Azha and performed the ritual animal sacrifices the following day.

According to official sources, a total of 87,157 pilgrims from Bangladesh performed Hajj this year. Unfortunately, 19 Bangladeshi pilgrims have died during the pilgrimage. Additionally, 188 Bangladeshi pilgrims have received medical treatment in Saudi Arabia so far, with 19 of them currently admitted to government hospitals.

The Saudi Ministry of Interior has reported taking action against fraudulent activities during this year’s Hajj. Authorities shut down 436 fake Hajj agencies and arrested 462 individuals for violating Hajj regulations.

The Hajj officially took place on June 5 this year. The first group of Bangladeshi pilgrims departed for Saudi Arabia on April 29, with the final outbound flight taking place on May 31.
