Chittagong, July 24 (V7N) – A Dhaka-bound flight of Biman Bangladesh Airlines from Dubai was forced to return to Shah Amanat International Airport in Chittagong shortly after takeoff due to a technical fault.
According to sources at the airport, flight BG-148, carrying 287 passengers, initially landed in Chittagong from Dubai at 7:15 am on Thursday. The aircraft later departed for Dhaka at 8:37 am, but shortly after reaching the Urirchar coast, it experienced a technical issue and was forced to return. The flight landed safely back at 8:58 am.
All passengers are reported to be safe. The aircraft is currently stationed at Bay No. 8 at the Chittagong airport.
According to flight tracking service FlightRadar24, the aircraft altered course mid-air due to the fault, causing panic among passengers. However, no casualties or injuries were reported.
Airport authorities have launched an inspection of the aircraft, and arrangements are being made for the onward travel of the affected passengers.
