Awami League General Secretary Obaidul Quader asserted on Sunday that although Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman is no longer physically present, his legacy continues to inspire the people of Bangladesh. Quader emphasized that Bangabandhu's birth symbolizes the birth of Bangladesh's independence and questioned whether the nation would have achieved independence without his leadership.

Speaking to reporters after paying tribute to Bangabandhu on his 104th birth anniversary and National Children's Day-2024 at Dhaka's Dhanmondi-32, Quader described Bangabandhu as the guiding light for the Bangladeshi people, capable of steering the nation through challenges and crises.

While acknowledging Bangabandhu's absence, Quader affirmed the commitment to continue the struggle under the leadership of Sheikh Hasina, Bangabandhu's daughter. He reiterated the party's dedication to advancing towards a developed, prosperous, and technologically advanced Bangladesh under Sheikh Hasina's leadership.
