Crown Princess Victoria of Sweden, serving as the Goodwill Ambassador for the United Nations Development Program (UNDP), embarked on a visit to various areas in Hatia, the island upazila of Noakhali.

Arriving at West Baradeil area of Burirchar Union in an army helicopter at 8 am on Wednesday, Princess Victoria was warmly welcomed at the helipad by Mohammad Ali, Member of Parliament for Noakhali-6 (Hatia), along with former Member of Parliament Ayesha Ferdaus, Hatia Upazila Executive Officer Suraiya Akhter Lucky, and Noakhali Additional Superintendent of Police (Crime and Ops) Mohammad Ibrahim.

During her visit, Princess Victoria engaged with local communities and observed development initiatives firsthand. She visited the new switch market of Burirchar Union and interacted with fisherman families in Guchch village. Additionally, she toured Nalchira Government Primary School, which also serves as a Cyclone Centre, before proceeding to Bhasanchar, where she met with Rohingya refugees at the camp.

Princess Victoria's itinerary also included visits to areas vulnerable to the effects of climate change, where she listened to the concerns of local residents. Mahbub Morshed Liton, Chairman of Hatia Upazila Parishad, expressed optimism about the impact of Princess Victoria's visit on future initiatives, highlighting her role in assessing the quality of life, progress in implementing Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), and addressing ongoing challenges posed by climate-related disasters.

The visit prompted extensive security measures, with approximately 200 policemen deployed across various locations to ensure the safety of the state guest. The coordinated efforts of law enforcement agencies, including RAB, BGB, Army, Navy, Air Force, Coast Guard, and intelligence surveillance, bolstered the security arrangements during Princess Victoria's visit to Hatia  Additional Superintendent of Police (Crime and Ops) of Noakhali, Mohammad Ibrahim said that .
