In a recent development, the Election Commission (EC) has issued a reminder to all political parties that contested in the 12th national parliamentary election, urging them to submit their election expenditure records.
Through a press release issued on Thursday, the constitutional body highlighted the mandatory requirement for political parties to disclose their election spending within 90 days following the conclusion of the election.
Citing Article 44(1) and (5) of the Representation of the People Order, 1972, the EC emphasized that all registered political parties, which participated in the 12th national election, are obligated to furnish their election expenditure statements to the Election Commission within the stipulated timeframe.
Furthermore, the EC has provided clear instructions to the concerned political entities, underscoring the importance of adhering to the specified deadline for submitting their election-related expenditure reports.
It's noteworthy that the 12th national parliamentary election took place on January 7, marking a significant event in Bangladesh's political landscape.
