Dhaka, Dec 23 (V7N)- The Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) has arrested 11 more individuals in connection with the attack, looting, and arson at the offices of Daily Prothom Alo and The Daily Star in Karwan Bazar, bringing the total number of arrests to 28.

The DMP Media and Public Relations Department confirmed the arrests on Tuesday. Those arrested include Abdur Rahman (30), Md. Jannatul Naeem, Md. Faisal (24), Qari Muaz bin Abdul Rahman (33), Zubair Hossain (21), Md. Almas Ali (29), Zulfikar Ali Saurav (22), Niaz Mahmud (28), Mohammad Mainul Islam (22), Md. Hashem (26), and Arafat Yasin (29).

According to Detective Branch sources, the mob attacked the newspaper offices on the night of December 18. After reviewing CCTV footage, the DB conducted operations to identify and apprehend the perpetrators. On Monday, December 22, nine people were arrested across the capital, and two more were apprehended by Tejgaon Police Station.

Police stated that legal action is underway against all the arrested individuals.
