Dhaka, Jan 03 (V7N)- The nomination of Jatiya Nagorik Party (NCP) Convener Nahid Islam for the Dhaka-11 constituency in the upcoming 13th National Parliament election has been declared valid.

The decision was announced by the Dhaka District Returning Officer at around 11:30 am on Saturday (January 3) following the scrutiny of nomination papers.

Confirming the matter, NCP Joint Member Secretary Tamim Ahmed told the media later in the afternoon that Nahid Islam’s nomination had been approved without objection.

Meanwhile, the nomination of Nasiruddin Patwari, the candidate of the 12-party alliance nominated by the Jatiya Nagorik Party for the Dhaka-8 constituency, has also been declared valid.

The scrutiny of nomination papers is currently underway across the country as part of the Election Commission’s preparation for the forthcoming parliamentary polls.
