Dhaka, Feb 08 (V7N)- The interim government has sought the cooperation of the Office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights (OHCHR) in investigating and ensuring justice in the killing of Inqilab Manch spokesperson Sharif Osman Hadi.

According to a press release from the Press Wing of the Chief Advisor on Sunday (February 8), the Bangladesh Permanent Mission in Geneva sent a formal note verbale to the OHCHR on February 6, following instructions from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. The note requested the UN human rights office to provide technical and institutional support for the investigation.

The press release stated that the Ministry of Foreign Affairs will be informed promptly once a response is received from the OHCHR.

The government reiterated its determination to identify those responsible for Sharif Osman Hadi’s killing and to bring them to justice, assuring that the investigation will follow maximum transparency and accountability in line with international human rights standards.
