Dhaka, Feb 08 (V7N)- Discussions regarding the agreement between DP World and the New Mooring Container Terminal (NCT) of Chittagong Port are ongoing. A formal communication has been sent to Chief Advisor Dr. Muhammad Yunus, and talks are expected to continue after the upcoming election.

This information was provided by Shipping Advisor Brigadier General (Retd.) M Sakhawat Hossain during a press briefing at the Secretariat on Sunday (February 8) afternoon.

The Shipping Advisor criticized the port employees, claiming they are holding the NCT “hostage” ahead of the election to disrupt activities in Chittagong. He said the government will adopt a firm stance, noting that some employees have already been detained.

He further stated that the strike is baseless and unreasonable, causing hardship for 18 crore people, and stressed that the port will be operational soon.
