Dhaka, Mar 01 (V7N) – Police have arrested the main suspect, Shaheen, in connection with the killing of a man named Obaidullah in the capital.

At a press briefing held at the Dhaka Metropolitan Police Media Center on Sunday afternoon, Harun‑or‑Rashid, Deputy Commissioner (Motijheel Division), said the incident occurred on the night of February 27.

According to police, the accused and the victim were roommates living in a mess house on Jasimuddin Road in Motijheel. Shaheen, an employee of a local hotel, allegedly killed Obaidullah following a dispute that began with a verbal argument late at night.

Investigators said the suspect later attempted to dispose of the body to avoid detection. Police recovered the weapon believed to have been used in the killing along with the victim’s mobile phone.

Shaheen was arrested from his workplace, and authorities said legal proceedings are underway.

Police officials added that further investigation is continuing to determine all circumstances surrounding the incident.
