Dhaka, Mar 09 (V7N) – The government has recalled Bangladesh’s ambassadors and a high commissioner from five countries, directing them to report to the headquarters of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Dhaka.

The decision was announced in a statement issued by the ministry on Sunday.

According to the statement, the ambassadors recalled include:

  • M Mahfuzul Haque – Ambassador to Portugal

  • Md. Mainul Islam – Ambassador to Poland

  • M Mushfiqul Fazal Ansari – Ambassador to Mexico

  • Md. Nazmul Islam – Ambassador to the Maldives

All four had been appointed on a contractual basis and have now been transferred to the Foreign Ministry in Dhaka.

In addition, Abida Islam, Bangladesh’s High Commissioner to the United Kingdom, has also been recalled and reassigned to the ministry headquarters.

The diplomats have been instructed to join the Foreign Ministry in Dhaka immediately, according to the statement.
