Despite the surge in vehicular movement as people travel to their hometowns for Eid-ul-Fitr, the Dhaka-Tangail-Bangabandhu Bridge highway witnessed normal traffic flow on Monday. Traditionally, travelers faced significant delays during Eid holidays on this route, but this year's journey has been notably smoother.

Improved road infrastructure and coordinated efforts between district and police administrations have contributed to the seamless travel experience, allowing people to reach their destinations without enduring lengthy wait times.

However, the increased number of vehicles on the highway has led to a doubling of toll collection compared to usual. According to the Bangabandhu Bridge Site Office, 29,780 vehicles crossed the bridge in the last 24 hours, generating a total toll collection of Tk2,50,89,200.

Of these vehicles, 15,085 headed towards the northern districts, contributing Tk1,85,40,050 to toll revenue, while 14,694 vehicles traveled towards Dhaka, generating Tk1,32,35,150 in toll fees.

To alleviate traffic congestion, 18 toll booths have been strategically placed on both sides of the bridge, as stated by Ahsanul Kabir Pavel, executive engineer of the Bangabandhu Bridge Site Office.

Mir Sajedur Rahman, in-charge of the Elenga Highway police outpost, reported no traffic congestion on the Dhaka-Tangail-Bangabandhu Bridge highway so far. He assured that adequate law enforcement personnel are on duty to maintain normal traffic movement throughout the journey.
