The Bangladesh Meteorological Department has announced that a severe heatwave persists in Khulna division and Rajshahi, Pabna, and Tangail districts. This condition is expected to persist for the next five days, starting from 9 am on Saturday.

Chuadanga district recorded the country's highest temperature at 41.3°C on Friday, marking the peak of the season's heatwave for the past three days.

Additionally, a mild to moderate heatwave affects Barisal division, as well as the remaining areas of Dhaka and Rajshahi divisions, along with Chandpur and Moulvibazar districts, with a likelihood of continuation.

In terms of precipitation, rain or thundershowers, accompanied by temporary gusty or squally winds, are forecasted in one or two places over Mymensingh, Sylhet, and Chittagong divisions, with the possibility of hail in isolated areas.

The weather across the rest of the country is expected to remain mainly dry with a temporary partly cloudy sky.

Both day and night temperatures are anticipated to rise slightly due to increased moisture incursion, leading to heightened discomfort.

The meteorological department noted the presence of a trough of westerly low lying over West Bengal and adjoining areas, which could influence weather patterns in the region.
