Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina reaffirmed Bangladesh's unwavering commitment to defending its sovereignty while fostering positive relations with neighboring nations. Following the inauguration of the Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Battery Complex in Chattogram, she reiterated the nation's readiness to protect its sovereignty against external threats.

The Prime Minister emphasized the importance of economic development alongside maintaining friendly relations with neighboring countries. She expressed confidence in the dedication and professionalism of army personnel, urging them to work for the welfare of the nation inspired by the spirit of the Liberation War.

Prime Minister Hasina also highlighted the government's vision to achieve sustainable development goals by 2030 and transform Bangladesh into a developed, prosperous, and technologically advanced nation by 2041. She commended the Bangladesh Army for its contributions both domestically and in UN peacekeeping missions, stressing the importance of modernizing the army for enhanced operational capabilities.

During her visit to the artillery museum within the complex, she observed historical artifacts showcasing the notable operations of the artillery forces during the Liberation War.

The event was attended by cabinet members, chiefs of the three services, members of parliament, and other dignitaries. Chief of Army Staff General S M Shafiuddin Ahmed welcomed the Prime Minister, and an audio-visual documentary on Mujib Battery was screened during the ceremony.
