President Mohammed Shahabuddin encouraged Qatar to enhance its investment in Bangladesh's Special Economic Zones (SEZs). He emphasized the country's openness to investments in various sectors, including agro-processing, smart agriculture, and fertilizer production, during a meeting with Qatar's Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani at Bangabhaban.
The President highlighted the benefits and incentives available to Qatar investors in sectors like petrochemicals, energy, machinery, information technology, ceramics, and food processing.
He expressed gratitude for Qatar's employment opportunities for Bangladeshis and sought further recruitment of skilled manpower. President Shahabuddin also thanked Qatar for supplying liquefied natural gas (LNG) and urged for long-term energy support.
The emir praised Bangladesh's socio-economic development and assured continued assistance. Both leaders exchanged greetings and anticipated strengthened bilateral relations through the visit.
