Residents of Khulna, Rajshahi, and Chittagong divisions are advised to prepare for sweltering conditions as the Meteorological Department issues a 48-hour heat alert starting from Wednesday. While there may be a slight drop in daytime temperatures in Dhaka and surrounding areas from Thursday onwards, forecasters warn that the heat will remain relentless and uncomfortable.

Presently, regions including Rajshahi, Chuadanga, Jessore, Pabna, and Rangpur are experiencing minimal chances of rainfall, exacerbating the heatwave conditions. However, relief appears to be on the horizon as rain is expected to sweep across the country by the end of the week, offering respite to the public from the scorching temperatures.

Meteorologists attribute the prolonged heatwaves to decreasing water vapor in the ocean, leading to heightened stability in heatwave patterns across Bangladesh. As communities endure the relentless heat, authorities urge residents to take necessary precautions to stay safe and hydrated during this period of extreme weather.
