President Mohammed Shahabuddin has sought Myanmar's support in strengthening regional relationships as Bangladesh prepares to take over as chair of the Bay of Bengal Initiative for Multi-Sectoral Technical and Economic Cooperation (BIMSTEC) in September.

During a meeting with Myanmar's newly appointed ambassador Kyaw Soe Moe, President Shahabuddin emphasized the need for cooperation on various issues, including the repatriation of forcibly displaced people from Myanmar.
