Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has called on the Chinese business community to invest in key sectors of Bangladesh, taking advantage of the "world's most liberal investment regime." Speaking at a summit on trade, business, and investment opportunities between Bangladesh and China in Beijing, the prime minister highlighted mutual benefits from such investments.

The summit, organized by the Embassy of Bangladesh in Beijing, BIDA, BSEC, and CCPIT at China World Summit Wing, Shangri-La Circle, Beijing, was part of her four-day official visit to China.

PM Hasina emphasized the potential for Chinese investment in infrastructure, energy, logistics, ICT, tourism, agro-processing, and development sectors. She also pointed to opportunities in the energy sector, including renewable energy, and climate-resilient smart farming, which opens collaboration prospects in agro-processing industries with buy-back arrangements with China. The prime minister further mentioned plans to establish three special tourism zones, inviting Chinese investment in real estate and hospitality sectors.
