Despite the rain and warnings from police and Chhatra League, students of Dhaka University (DU) gathered in front of the central library on Wednesday afternoon. This came after a press conference by DMP, where they warned of strict action against the planned blockade at Shahbagh.

Md Mahin Saikat, a movement coordinator, stated their intention to proceed to Shahbagh, undeterred by the warnings. Additional Commissioner (Crime and Ops) Kh Mahid Uddin reiterated that any further road blockades would be met with legal action.
