Dhaka, August 3-The anti-discrimination student movement's nationwide protest program took a dramatic turn on Saturday afternoon as demonstrators converged on Pragati Sarani. At approximately 1:15 PM, students unexpectedly gathered at the Yamuna Future Park area, blocking traffic and chanting slogans.
The protest caused a significant traffic disruption, with roads from Yamuna Future Park towards New Bazaar being completely closed. Vehicles traveling from Kuril Bishwa Road towards Nadda and New Bazaar were unable to pass through.
Numerous police officers were stationed near Bashundhara Gate, maintaining vigilance as the situation unfolded. The protesters affirmed that their demonstration was part of a broader, peaceful movement involving students and citizens nationwide.
The demonstration is part of the ongoing anti-discrimination student movement's efforts to address their grievances and demands related to quota reforms and other issues.
