The interim government has promoted 117 officers from the rank of senior assistant secretary to deputy secretaries.

According to the order issued by the Ministry of Public Administration on Tuesday night, the decision will come into force with retrospective effect on various dates between December 2010 and November 2023, and they will be entitled to the salary and allowances of the new posts.

For the time being, they have been made officers on special duty (OSD).

However, the order further states that the authorities reserve the right to modify or cancel the order as necessary if any negative information is received against any officer.

Ministry sources claim that the Awami League government blocked their promotion during the last 15 years. After the interim government took oath, the deprived officers conveyed their demands to the advisers at the Secretariat on Sunday.
