Dhaka, August 20-- Chinese Ambassador to Bangladesh, Yao Wen, affirmed China's commitment to collaborating with the new interim government in Bangladesh. This statement came after a courtesy meeting with Finance and Trade Adviser Salehuddin Ahmed at the Secretariat on Tuesday morning.

In his remarks to reporters, Yao Wen described the meeting as productive and noted that it was his first discussion with the finance adviser following the formation of the interim government. The conversation focused on ongoing projects funded by China and the potential for new support.

Yao Wen addressed concerns regarding the interest rates on Chinese loans, acknowledging that the issue was discussed. He emphasized the need for both parties to negotiate terms that balance mutual interests and resolve objections related to the loan conditions.

He reiterated China's commitment to continuing its support for existing projects and exploring opportunities for further cooperation with Bangladesh.
